Our Story

Fitzroy Golf Club was officially opened on 21st May 1932 by the Fitzroy Seaside Society. The club was incorporated the following year. The original course was 9-holes and located closer to the city centre, occupying part of what is now the Fitzroy Beach Holiday Park.

Over the years the course has undergone numerous changes to its layout, increasing to first a 14-hole course and then finally an 18-hole course. The last changes were made in 2022, with the 9th hole becoming a par 3 and the 4th becoming a par 4.

Throughout this time the course has been open to the public and the club continues to make itself available to members, visiting golfers and casual players alike.

We pride ourselves on being welcoming and friendly to all those who visit our club and recognise the importance the golf club plays as being part of the local community.

So please enjoy your time with us and feel free to pop in for a drink after you have finished your round.
